amitiza (lubiprostone) Has anyone else tried this medication?       03/07/09 11:31 AM Edit Reply Quote ShannonL Reged: 01/27/09 Posts: 8 Loc: Gardiner, Maine I finally broke down and agreed to try a prescription to help my IBS-C. My doctor prescribed 8mg of amitiza, twice a day. I'm not sure if I'm taking this wrong, or what the problem may be, but each time I have taken it, it makes my stomach hurt and I have to stay near the bathroom!
