Sand, I have a bottle of the baby shampoo/water mixture prepared and use it twice a day-have for months now. I even use it on my dogs faces!! I get some free samples of the lid scrubs you can buy in the stores and use those as well sometimes but the baby shampoo thing works just as good and its cheap!
Sarcoidosis is a disease in which the immune system over reacts to an unknown antigen and causes granuloma's (little clumps of cells) to grow. The majority of people who get it don't have any symptoms and need no treatment. It usually shows up in the lungs first and can cause shortness of breath for some people. I am in the more rare 20% of the people where the disease progresses to a state called progressive chronic. Which means it continues to get worse and just doesn't go away.
I do not know anything about Duff but Bernie Mac just died of it. In my case, it causes really bad arthritis, in fact they thought I had RA (rheumatoid arthritis) for several years. It causes inflammation all over my body so my hands, feet, ankles, knees, etc all swell up and hurt. It causes extreme fatigue and memory problems. It has caused scarring in my lungs and reduced my lung capacity. It affects my heart and I have to take heart medication. It can basically go anywhere and cause untold amounts of damage in the more severe cases like I have. I get remicade infusions at the hospital once a month and it is helping. I feel a whole lot better than I did a year ago even.
I'm trying to wean down on the steroid eye drops and will see the eye specialist again 11/20 to go over my options. But, its really a matter of get the sarcoidosis under control and my eyes will follow but thats proving to be an extremely difficult thing to do!
Its getting real cold here in MI but its supposed to be in the mid 50's this weekend so we hope to wrap up the fall yard clean-up and get the porch furniture and stuff put away. Than I still need to clean my closet, I job I LOATHE but since its a really small closet, needs to be done frequently. I have to dig out the winter clothes. Than we will probably take a weekend to do NOTHING at all before starting the last few rooms in the house. We decided on a nice yellow for the hall and bath and still have the front bedroom to do. I am anxious for it to be done but running out of steam very quickly!
