I would insist on blood work being done. A friend of mine's little girl had this going on and off for about a month and they found out she had strep in her blood. She never had a sore throat, but apparently that is not a symptom when it gets in the blood. They treated her with antibiotics and she is fine now. As a mom myself, I believe that you are your child's advocate and should insist on things especially of your mother's instinct is telling you otherwise.
