i found a sugar substitute that is safe for IBS...it''s called STEVIA , made from 100% Stevia Rebaudiana plant, it has no dairy and has no after taste...comes in handy packets as well as loose and you can carry it in your pocket/purse. I shop at Trader Joe's and they carry soy creamer that is better than half and half in your cereal (along with acacia fiber and stevia for sweetener)...my life is no longer "on hold" and my husband and i just came back from a cruise to Alaska to celebrate our "50th anniversary...i had no problem..i carry my own butter ...(earth balance, contains no dairy ) and they had soy milk ... my gastroenterologist gave up on medicating me...i lost 31 pounds just by eating sweet potatoes, white bread, rice, and every thing exactly as Heather prescribes in her cookbook...i am pain free after many years of suffering and several ER hospital visits (where all they do is shoot morphine for the pain) my Dr. was so excited that he copied my cheat sheet for other patients and copied the name of Heathers cookbook and website for all his IBS patients that can't seem to get it under control...i myself am so thrilled that i walk around with extra cheat sheets and Heathers website in my pocket for others to live a better life because of this website Heather has given me my life back...thanks...and a better shape too !!!
