Hey,

After my ectopic (tubal) in 2002 (wow! it's been 6 years!) my periods were haywire too. Sometimes nothing, sometimes really heavy for 10 days, then agin in two weeks. I put up with it for 6 months. Then my OB recommended the Mirena iud. It has slow release progesterone and lasts for 5 years. My periods are basically a bit of spotting every month, if at all.
I recommend you get yourself looked at because irradical changes in your hormone levels could be causing you the flucuation in your periods. That's what my OB said anyways.

Best of luck!!
