Bill Nance (sigh) had a party at his house -- in the basement -- and I was invited. It was my first. Ray Sims was there too (heavy sigh). I wore my aunt's orange and white-striped blouse, my green poodle skirt, and my saddle shoes (of course) and heavy socks. I looked coool. They turned the lights down low, and I danced with Bill to the tune of "Blue Moon" by Elvis. It was HEAVEN. I was SWOONING. It was 1957.
