Hi Prissy, Yes, I have definately gone from D to C before. It's almost normal for me to have a couple of days of C after an attack of D. since I've increased the Acacia fiber (I'm up to 9 grams a day), this hasn't been happening so much.
I also get that pain in the lower left side of my abdomen. It is a common symptom with IBS. I found that it got a lot better after starting the IBS diet, but I do still get it, particularly when I'm C. I don't think it's gas, just an "achey muscle" kind of feeling. Our colons work so much harder than normal people's do, so it makes sense that we would end up with some "strain". Kind of like that achey feeling you get after doing too many sit-ups.
-------------------- IBS-A since age 12, and fructose sensitive; with the exception of my pregnancy, have been following Heather's diet since Nov. 19, 2007.
Taking 12g of Acacia per day. Relatively stable since March 2008!
