You got sick because you have IBS. Until you are fully on the diet, following every aspect of it, and taking the right amount of fiber, you will still have trouble even after eating "safe" foods. It's part of the syndrome. It's going to take a while to get stable, and even when you are following everything precisely, you will still have very bad days. It's just part of the reality you have to accept with this diagnosis.

There's nothing wrong with bananas. Continue to eat them as part of your IBS diet. If you notice that they seem to upset you each and every time you eat them, eliminate them. Many of us have to omit items that are perfectly tolerable for other IBS'ers.
