Mindfulness meditation. Just try to blank your mind. Allow thoughts to enter, acknowledge them and let them float away like a cloud. Acknowledge how you feel about them and that it's OK. It's not a fight of the thoughts, it's stepping back saying, oh, I'm thinking about this and I feel.... and that's OK. Let it go. Sometimes it's also good to sit with a thought until it is ready to float away. Focus on really deep breathing and if your mind wanders, go back to focussing on your breathing. Try in for one count, out for one count. Then in for two, out for two. Breathe all the way up to ten and then back down. It helps keep the mind focussed. I have a great book title or two if you're interested. Hang in there, Nel. Love, A. PS I now have insomnia and chronic nightmares thanks to my PTSD caused by X.
