You can start with community college, and get a routine going. As for myself, I became very comfortable with Spanish by immersing myself in a non touristy area of Mexico for 4 months. I did courses there at a university. I found I learned the most this way...no one spoke English. There are schools in Spain that do week immersions and longer.
