I have interstitial cystitis (IC) and it can cause severe abdominal pain and blood in the urine. It was never all that bad until September, when I had a horrendous flare-up. IC can be REALLY painful and it can come out of nowhere, so check out that angle too. Unfortunately, it's tough to diagnose and generally requires a cystoscopy under general anesthesia to check the bladder walls. If you haven't already, schedule an appointment with a urologist -- they'll be more inclined to take you seriously than the ER. I hope they find out what's wrong and you feel better soon.
