I've suffered tendonitis for years and have worn orthotics since I was like 6! Have your doc run whats called a C active protein blood test. Its more sensitive than the antibody test for ra and will measure the amount of inflammation in your system. About 30% of people who do indeed have ra have whats called serum negative, meaning they can't detect it in the blood. They have to dx it by x-rays and other symptoms.
