It's a prep coverage position so that's how it happened. Here the divisions are divided into Primary (k-3), Junior (4-6), Intermediate (7-10) and Senior (11-12). Usually teachers get a degree in P/J (they teach k-6), J/I (they can teach gr.4-10; this is what I have and I'm certified to teach) and I/S (they can teach grade 7-12, however most of these teachers choose to teach highschool as they're required to have 2 teachables). I think I might take my Primary Basic Additional qualification so I can be certified to teach k-3. I'm going to wait until the winter though b/c I don't have the money for that right now plus I think I'll have more to contribute once I've had the Gr.3s for a few months.
