Not being patronised, just thought some might not be familiar with chat rooms. 
1) Click on this link: Web page
2) Scroll down to where you see a big pink area, type your IBS Boards login into the white text box and hit the 'Connect' button.
You're now in the chatroom!
• Down the left side of the screen in the grey box is the list of people who are also currently in the chat room.
• The white area is where the text that everybody types will appear
• The pale yellow box near the bottom is where you type your text – hit enter once you've finished typing and your message will move up to where everyone else can see it instantly.
• To change the colour & style (bold/italic) of your text – use the first 3 buttons just above the yellow text window.
• (You can change this as often as you like – but it's a good idea to pick your favourite when you first log in and stick to it, as it helps others understand quicker who's saying what! Colours break up the text, and make the room easier to read than if it is all in black text.)
• Inserting smilies: Click on the yellow smily face button (the 4th from the left), and select the face you want!
• Inserting sounds: Use the 5th button from the left, with the green musical note on it, to bring up a list of sounds you can insert into your message. It's best to use these sparingly, as they can get annoying!
• You can add an icon to your name to show your status – i.e. 'be right back', 'just stepped out', etc, which lets other people know if you're there or not. To do it click on the 6th button from the left, with the round green sign on it, and select your status from the popup list.
• The next button along, with 4 little arrows pointing away from eachother on it is the button you can use to open the chatroom up in a new window – rather than using the one embedded in the web page. This is all down to personal preference – but if you open it in a new window you can make it whatever size you want.
