Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards

I tap dance. I take a class for it once a week in a local dance studio. I love it! Sometimes it's difficult to get myself there if I am not feeling well, or tired, or have a million other things to do, but I really make an effort to go because I have so much fun doing it, and its great exercise.

Reading - I love to read, but lately can't seem to find much time for it. I used to read a book a week, but now I am lucky if I can read a couple pages a week! In any case, reading always relaxes me and lets me escape to another world for a little while....

Knitting - I taught myself a few years ago. I go in spurts - I'll go weeks knitting every single night after dinner, and then I won't touch it for a couple months. I do find it very relaxing and therapeutic, though. I tend to knit more in the colder months. This time of year I often forget about it.

I have a couple more hobbies, but those are the main ones. I agree with you that it is difficult to find the time (I'm not a mom or a student either). I think there needs to be a point in everyone's life where we ust have to say - the dishes can wait (or the vacuuming, or the laundry, etc). I try to make this happen for me, but its not always easy!
