Well, all, this new doctor, who I was so scared about...he's amazing. I want to hug him. I know that feeling too!

First of all, he insisted on only giving me 6 mos. worth of BCPs because he insists I get a pap because I've had "bad cells" that they went in and "star wars'ed out" back in the 90s. I was impressed. my last doc seemed like he really didn't want to worry about that down there area. Good. I'm glad your new doc is taking your history into account. Duh!

Secondly, he was amazed/happy that my lower dose BCP took care of so much(aka i was getting too much estrogen), but I told him I still think I have SAD. He basically diagnosed me(it's a mild case, just not enough sunlight..) and told me if I use lots of calcium and lots of Vitamin D, not only will it help the winter depression, it will help me lose weight!! Yay!! Whoooo!!! You must feel relieved to have a diagnosis of SAD and then be told of an easy way to treat it. Happy dance!

Thirdly, I told him about my struggle with asthma, weight etc, and he took my asthma very seriously, unlike the previoous doc. What was wrong with your last doc?! He wants me to get it under control-doubled my steroids...I told him I was scared of really gaining weight if I went on these steroids, and never has a doctor taken the time to EXPLAIN to me that it won't make me balloon, and gave me NUMBERS to back it up, and explained that if I get this asthma more under control, I have a way better chance of being fit. he made me unafraid of taking my steroid more. See, I believe the best doctors are the ones who realize they're also educators. I love docs who take the time to explain things.

He also believes that we can get me into a fitness routine. first time in my life that a doctor REALLY wants to work on thigs that matter to me, and not just to financially benefit himself. Yess!! That is so cool. When do you see him again?

oh, one more thing, I have a caffeine allergy, basically. Coffee and chocolate, and chocolate milk and regular tea have begun to give me something similar to anxiety attacks. I will post scientific stuff on it if I can find it, but basically it's an intolerance and I literally overdose on even decaf coffee. This is the same girl who'd have 2 espressos a day, then a pot of coffee at work. Ay carumba! I think this is physically the same as people who are "cheap drunks"(count me in there too) or who only need one tylenol to be pain free(yup, me too)so interesting.

I'm so intolerant, LOL! I know what you mean, but really you're one of the most tolerant and compassionate people I know! Too bad your body isn't cooperating. So, I guess you're going to have to give up caffeine...and CHOCOLATE! Well, we're here to support you!
