I would try the med that she gave you. I am a D person too and I have taken that med with no bad ibs results. I'd start it on a weekend though, just to make sure. That sucks that your coverage isn't covering either of your meds! I have two close friends with very bad reflux. One had that scope and while it was unpleasant, it didn't last too long. They spray your throat to numb it so it helps kill the gag reflex. I'd only get it done if absolutely necessary though. I'm sorry your Friday isn't all that great.
