They'll just do some blood tests and that will tell them what your levels look like. I think it's quite common for people to be hypo or hyper thyroid. Thyroid pills are also very inexpensive even without having insurance so try not to worry too much. I've been taking thyroid medication since I was 19yrs old and I'm turing 26 in April and I've been just fine. I just go every 6 mos. to get my thyroid levels checked to make sure I'm ok.
