This is one I wrote for my daughter when she was a baby. I don't propose to be e.e cummings or Leonard Cohen, but like to write...
Daughter
Delicate tiny hands Grasping awkwardly at hair Aroma of baby powder Dancing through the air
Wonderful lashes long Batting, eyes gazing into mine Gummy toothless smiles Melt my heart each time
Hair of gold so fine No mortal can hope to tame Skin of silk, pale as ivory No fault, no hate, no shame
A gift unparalleled to any This child has brought such bliss A mother and father eternally thankful For their daughter's sweet kiss
Copywright Shannon Webb. Yes, it's published out there somewhere. They wouldn't send me the book. If you've read it, tell me where it is!!Funny thing is, I barely scrawled it down for poetry.com, and they wanted to publish it in two books. i didn't even freaking edit the thing! But writing isn't my passion.....
Anyone else write?
