Yes and no one tells you the hard parts of having a newborn. Heck if we all knew what we were in for we'd never reproduce! It's so worth it though. It goes so quick and each stage you find fun and not so fun. But you are right about it being a different kind of love. Our dog was our child for a few years. Then my first son came, dog got put on backburner. Second child came, mom gets on backburner with hubby. It's a viscious circle! Phase though, just remember that, it's all a phase.
