Anyone have this dilemma; Several metal clips are inside me in surrounding area where gallbladder was removed. First time I found out about them, was during a chest x-ray. The x-ray tech said, what are those metal spots in your upper stomach area? I was stunned and mumbled, I don't know; guess I got them when my gallbladder was removed. Then the x-ray tech said, very strange.
I didn't think too much about it until I had another chest x-ray many years later and again a different x-ray tech also asked, what are those spots? And then he said, those are metal clips in your upper stomach. Now I knew what they were called.
A few weeks ago I mentioned those metal clips to my dad, and he got my attention when he said, Metal clips are what they use on the outside of the body, as stitches. What are they doing inside your body? I didn't have an answer.
Now I'm wondering why those metal clips are there? I had gallbladder surgery over 25 years ago. That's when my IBS problems started. Could the two somehow be connected? Anyone ever heard of this? should I be conserned? What do I do with this information?
Thanks for your help. Paintlady
