The main reason for the blood tests is to make sure the drug level is not toxic...because it can be. My son's pediatrician checks electrolyte levels, sodium, does a complete CBC (it can mess with white blood count in some folks) and tells me if the drug level is in the optimum range for my son. That's how we found out the higher dose was indeed toxic. His body wasn't metabalizing it fast enough. My son's doctor has done 3 blood draws since March, and if this most recent one is fine, said she wouldn't do another for six months. She will check it twice a year, minimum. I'd sure ask to have it checked periodically...liver enzyme count is part of what they look for in my son as well. I think it is very important. -------------------- God is Faithful!
