Glad to hear there is no damage and Maalax isn't horrible to take as long as you get the mint. BTW that doesn't cause D for me. My sphincter doesn't work normally, so I take a Prilosec everyday and it has been a great drug for me. Everytime I go off I get really sick, so I stick with it. Make sure your hubby takes it everyday and he will be feeling better in no time. Hey he may gain 5 more pounds on his skinny body. LOL The doctor should let it go - it is only 5lbs.
