My DBF's dad is heading up the mine sweeping operations in Northern Iraq for Louis Berger (one of the prime contractors). We get really quiet whenever we hear about a contractor getting killed or taken. It's a real rollarcoaster, and he's going to be over there for five years. The work itself is hard enough, considering he's working with unskilled locals to teach them techniques, protocol, etc. Plus he's working with lots of live explosives as part of his day-to-day job.
