I wish I have some great advice for you. All three of my boys potty trained by 2 1/2 without much effort. The bad news is my 10 year old still wets his bed at night (family history of bedwetting on my DH's side.)
We didn't use pull ups for our boys - pull ups are still too much like diapers. My Aunt told my to put the boys in cloth diapers and put the plastic coverings over the diapers. That way your child can feel when he pees and is wet, which is uncomfortable. We also used Michelle's method - the bare bottom method.
Good luck and not feeling well yourself I'm sure the potty training has been put on hold.
