Actually, the woman who encouraged him to try out for the show lives in Huntersville. She and her daughter were at the show Friday night and he recognized and thanked them for their encouragement. Clay, who was a special education student, worked with their son who had autism. I think that's part of Clay's appeal, that he seems like such a nice guy with a kind heart for others.
