My grandmother taught me...she would teach us everytime when we went to her house - then one day she was cleaning out her scrap wool and she gave me it all! I was about 13 at the time and so excited!!!! Because before that I would only crochet when we went to vist my grandmas to visit about once a month. My first blanket when really big on one and the other was not straight. Just a mess really! LOL. I haven't really gotten all the quick at it because I watch tv while I make them. My blankets will take me all winter to do one. But it's also because I work during the day. So I only work on it in the evening and then on weekends. So I am not that quick, but I find that the larger the hook the faster the afghan is to make because you are covering more space, of course! Well good luck Jules and have fun!
