I have bachelors degrees in government and East Asian Studies from the College of William and Mary and a masters in International Affairs with concentrations in Asia and global health from George Washington University. I started working in 1999 with a nonprofit focussing on prison conditions and political imprisonment in China, then in grad school I worked on a journal involving security issues in China and the former Soviet Union. I did a small stint of researching and translation for Radio Free Asia Mandarin Service. I currently work as an analyst on East Asia at a govenmental commission that works to promote religious freedom in the countries where there are the most severe violations of religious rights.
