mom has Crohns and keeps telling me if I'd just take the right meds and maybe have surgery it will make things better... Mind you she's had this since I was born! She also keeps insisting that I have been misdiagnosed and I must have crohns (yes I've had the tests and no- I don't have the same symptoms!)

it drives me nuts. oddly enough it was my aunts on my dads side who were most understanding in my birth family and who have pointed out that my paternal grandmother had stomach problems that were blown off by docs but sound awfully similar to mine most of her life. She lived through thema nd downplayed them by the time I was born because she had been ignored and blown off so often.

interestingly they both had very informative suggestions adn recipes to share!

My Mil and aunt on moms side are nurses and try to tell me what they know, but neither knows much and a lot of what they tell me is things I know are wrong- its the same reasons I insisted I was misdiagnosed for years. I had the right diagnosis but docs who gave me inaccurate advice- pushed metamucil instead of other fibers, pushed eating a ton of IF instead of SF... etc...
