I use a neti pot every day and I'm very pleased with it. A neti pot is a little pot, not unlike a small teapot, which is used to irrigate the sinus & nasal passages with salt water. It's much the same result, I'm sure, as the other irrigating systems talked about here. It's very easy to use, mix 1/4 tsp salt to every cup of water, and use the little pot to pour the water in one nostril- it flows through the other. At first I was a little frightened by the idea of pouring water into my nose, but it's really soothing and I think it's really helping my sinuses stay clear- and I've had a lifetime of hay fever, sinus infections, bronchitis, and sundry respiratory ickies. Here's the proof in the pudding: all my students are sick and I'm not. I think it may have to do with cleaning all the junk out of my sinuses every morning.
