Now that I have your attention, let me turn you to an interesting grassroots consumer survey.
Now that there are little ones in my life, I've been paying particular attention to the marketing and "production" of food brands. If this sounds rather tangential....it is not, actually. If I pay attention to the name brand of the product (especially if it's a foodstuff), and then observe my distension, it's visible evidence of which products literally make me sick.
For example, Mott's and Tree Top are two famous brands that make apple juice. No naming names, here, but I definately prefer one over the other...because of the way the food is PRODUCED. I found that if I like the advertising of a food product, my body tends to respond well to the way the actual food was processed. Coke and Pepsi are in the same way related..., by name brand, to my gut.
Now, you people may have think I either watch too much TV or have totally lost my mind. Well; I take medication to control the old psyche, so I must watch too much television. Nah!!! This San Fernando Valley Boy lost interest in Hollywood (and recreational television and motion pictures) several years ago. The point being is that I am not as influenced (through the television commercial media) as the majority of the US population. This distinction shows itself in my objectivity to psychological associations with television advertising to certain products offered while in a market. Most of the radio advertising I do hear is quite different than from that cubic tube.
Now that I have hopefully shown some sense of credibility; in that, rare exposure to certain forms of media lead to minimal psychological influence from that form of media.
-when I say I like brand A better than brand B it is completely my own decision, because you can not be impressionable towards a product whose ad you've never seen.
So; before I wander on and on...perhaps it is also the WAY that food is made (or, is processed by a company) that can also affect symptoms as well is merely the food type.
Just some halfway thought out hunch. Have a favorite name brand for lunch. See what happens and make up your own mind.
