Back when I was first diagnosed with gallstones, my doctor sent me to a surgeon, for a consultation about having my gallbladder removed.

I sat in the waiting room for 1/2 hour.
I then sat in a FREEZING exam room for close to an hour.
The surgeon came in, was terribly rude, and talked to me for about 5 minutes, then referred me to a GI doc.

The bill? $500. Thank goodness I had insurance at the time... I only paid a tiny copay.

Doctors have a pretty good racket going, that's for sure. Mom was right - I should have gone to med school.
