I know you're really stressing about this, but you've got to try and calm yourself down, or you'll only feel worse. You won't know until you try the new job whether it'll work out. You may find that it's the best possible thing ever, and you may be very happy and stress-free. There is no reason why you can't be out there looking for another PT job just in case this one doesn't work out. And if it doesn't work out, there is no shame in that. You'll still learn from it. You'll still have made an effort to try something new. Take heart from that! You are really taking an excellent leap.
So yes, I think that you are doing the right thing. Any attempt at a new and better life is a good thing. If it doesn't work out, it's not the end of the world, and we will be here to help you get through it! Try not to stress right now - give it your all and you may just surprise yourself!

PS - sorry this sounds a bit disjointed, I'm not typing what I'm thinking very clearly!
PPS - you're not whining at all! It's understandable that you're stressed, we're here to help you get un-stressed!
