I know this has got to be a daily battle for you. And yes, you're right. Having children motivates us to do a lot of things we wouldn't normally do. The hope of seeing my boys grow and mature is what has kept me going during my struggles with depression. Bipolar disorder runs in my family, so I know my condition is not something I can help. I've had people say to me, "Are you sure you have that?" Like I am imagining these ups and downs! Unfortunately, mental illnesses are not seen by many as "legitimate" conditions. But I'd rather face it and deal with it than end up like my father's sister did (Her condition was untreated, and she committted suicide.) Your children are precious! I know you are enjoying them.
