Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | The beginning of quite a week...

Today:

-went to the ol' board and care to visit. Hmph, some things never change. It was good to see everybody.

However, and although I did have the job possibility in mind; it seems as though I was being tested for something...like "is he right for us at this time." When I arrived @ 9:00AM, this morning I didn't make mention of the idea of work because the reason for the visit was ultimately to see my old friends... Yet, the subject came up and I said, "If the rehab. dept. offers me a job, I'd take it." -quite matter-of-factly. Still, the day didn't seem as "emotionally satisfying" as originally thought. Perhaps I'm partly responsible, yet, I still feel a little used... The sig. person whom I wanted to see wasn't there (she's on maternity leave w. a beautiful newborn named "Max"). The next step is to wait to see if I'm invited to the Thanksgiving party (which will also be held on a different day than Thursday as the staff probably wants to be with their own families). I'm not going to push the situation as it fell into my lap. It found me, so to speak.

Tomorrow:

-got an appointment for Academic Couseling at my college.
-decided on what to pursue: Urban Geography with a minor in Communications. Can probably find work upon graduating as a technical writer for a governmental agency in the Construction industry. But, this has to start somewhere, namely, the beginning.

Wednesday

As they didn't outright offer me a job, today. Perhaps, I'm one of a few candidates...and, my social security duplicate card came in today; I'll be back at the Labor Ready depot @ 5:30 AM (which means leaving the house at 4:30 AM) to acquire part-time, temp work. At least my finances are not contingent solely upon the rehab. program. That takes a lot of worry off my mind as it doesn't put "all the eggs in one basket."

That's what's up this week. Hope this message finds you all winning the "battles of the day."
