My 4 yr old is getting Catheter test       10/31/04 07:24 PM Edit Reply Quote FEMBETH Reged: 09/20/04 Posts: 85 My daughter is getting a VCUG which is a catheter which checks her bladder or kidneys. They are checking her urine reflux. she had this test done last yr and found her urine was going back into her kidneys and causing UTI's. She had 3 UTI's in 2 yrs. They put her on sulfa daily for a yr. If her body has corrected itself she will only be on it daily for another 6 months. I am not sure what they will do if it has not corrected itself. I am very nervous and upset they do not sedate her for this procedure and it was horrible the last time we did this. We have to be there at 9:00 in the morn and the pediatric hosp is 45 min away.
