Want another tip, Ruchie!? This is my absolute favorite, but use it slowly 'til you know how you respond. Get a tennis ball and go to your bed or couch. Place it where you have tense muscles (your back, your hips, your shoulders), between you and the couch/bed. Let the weight of your body press the ball and keep it there for a few minutes 'til you feel the muscles relax. (If it's too ouchy, then move the ball a few inches if you can't tolerate it, but I usually wait it out if I can 'cause those are the most dramatic "fixes.") Sometimes this hurts a lot and I start to cry, but believe it or not, you can more often than not actually feel those muscles just losen right up....
When you've worked the same area for a while and you feel up to it, move to the floor (harder surface, more resistance).
Don't work too many areas at one time... Just pick one or two. Sometimes I've gotten a little too crazy and been really sore the next day.
I'm tellin' ya, Ruchie, I feel like a new woman after I've done this with my hips--- who knew!?
The tennis ball thing is especially good after a hot bath/shower and or time on the heating pad. YUM! get everything all loosey goosey first. EXCELLENT!
I'm doing not-so-hot right now, Ruchie. I really would love some sleep! It's so silly... probably no one who doesn't have fibro can understand, but I sleep all night sometimes, but I feel worse than when I went to bed 'cause it's not the right kind of sleep! I am going to throw some phone tantrums tomorrow morning, Ruchie, and hopefully get some Ambien before Friday. I'm really tired and achy. I've had to cancel plans for the last 3 days, and that really makes me mad. There's a cute boy I want to see this weekend and I REFUSE TO LET THE FIBRO STOP ME! (even if i haven't slept)
