That is another thing to think of. I have been very careful not to get involved with this soil or grass. I am afraid it is all going to have to be replaced, I just cannot go out there and work in this stuff with a clear mind. It is just not worth it. In this area, there is a 70-80% chance of dying from cancer, I just found that out today. I knew for many years there has been a lot of cancer here, but OMGosh, I had no idea it was that high. Frightening, very frightening. That just helped me confirm that all of the soil, mulch, and plants have to go, it is breaking my heart. We just love the way our house and yard look with this landscaping job. We have always built our own bedding, done the planting and growing, I saved money all winter so that in the spring we could have this done, it is a very large area and it was not cheap. My h works so hard, and I was recouperating from major surgery, so we paid to have it done, and couldn't have been more pleased.
My son and dil, and 3 little grandsons live across from us on a county road the boys are sick quite often (I hate that), my other son and his wife live about a mile down the road. The same days we were all feeling chest pain, mine is the only one that stayed, there are also some people closer to the refinery who were ill and having chest pains last week. On the road that takes us back to town, there are huge patches of dead spots, those spots definitely had to come from that refinery, no one could convince me otherwise.
They are notorious for covering up their mistakes, they do not want to be fined by the EPA. And those people will eat their lunch, big time. So, I do not take one word they say to me seriously. NONE OF IT. So, hopefully in the coming weeks we will be learning more. This is sad, so sad. But, it could be worse, much worse. AT least there was not an explosion and no one lost thier lives.
Thanks Michele for the thoughts, I am still praying for you honey. ITs gonna happen. {{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}
