What are the nature of your daughter's symptoms? Is she IBS-D or IBS-C? Does she have frequent attacks where she HAS to get to a bathroom right away?

What were the recommended treatments for her? How are these working for her? Does her current diet minimize her symptoms?

Is she on the FODMAP diet? What foods and beverages can she tolerate well with no or very few symptoms?

I would recommend that your daughter carefully assess her symptoms and if she needs to, she should postpone even starting a job until she has her symptoms well under control.

Originally diagnosed with IBS-C in Spring, 2008. During spring to fall of 2008, had at least 10 acupuncture treatments and Chinese herbs. IBS went into remission. IBS returned in late July 2013 after taking 2 oral contrasts for a CT scan for cancer follow up. Had more acupuncture with different practitioner in summer 2014, but received little benefit.
