Hello. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. I am trying to lose weight/get in shape and need some suggestions. I am 33 and only 5 ft 1 in.
Here is my story: I had chronic constiption since I was a baby. When I got my period at 11 I started to go back back and forth between C and D during my time of the month and when I had emotional stress. My first time I had acid reflux was in the 7th grade. I remember it well. Finally when I was out of college and working in the medical field as a health educator, I found a GI physician who diagnosed me with IBS (mostly C), GERD, and all over - slow GI motility. If I take any kind of laxative it takes up to 12 hours for it to work. I don't take those ever now because of the pain it gives me.
I am on Aciphex 2x a day (used to be on Nexium up to 2x a day). And for my IBS I am only on emergency meds and Miralax when needed. I have also been diagnosed with SIBO with positive hydrogen test! ZELNORM was a wonder drug and worked perefectly - it had my system working wonderfully like I never had IBS ever!
6 months after my second child I had a hysterectomy (we left my ovaries because I wasn't having any problems and I do not have the BRCA genes). But about 8 months after the surgery I started getiing large ovarian cysts. So supossedly I would have been making these cysts all my life except that I was on birth control since 18yrs old. So I tried all kinds of birth control to stop the cysts and the Depo Proveera shot is the only thing that is working.
I have hypothyroidism and on 100mcg synthroid. Since between my children upt to 6 months after my 2nd child (when I had my surgery) I could not exercise except for walking (I was not allowed to do any lifting or use any intrabdominal muscles for my prolapse of my bladder, uterus, rectum, and perinium would get worse. So I had been trying to work off that weight for a year now and only got down to 145 lbs. And now that I'm on the Depo shot I am back up to 152 lbs. I don't look like I am about 150 lbs, but it's too heavy for me.
All raw vegetables upset my GERD and apples. If I do eat any of these, it has to be before noon. Too much fiber causes me gas!!! I can't do low carb, the extra protein gives me too much acid reflux. Too much whole wheat products causes me to go IBS-D with all the pain.
Oat products like Oatmeal and oat bread, seem to work for me as well as white bread. Dairy doesn't bother me at all. Berries and fruit don't bother me either. Chicken and Meat doesn't bother me. I limited teh red meat. I don't eat fried foods. My weakness is baked goods (brownies, cookies, or such). I usually eat 1 serving sweet treat (like a Kashi Oatmeal Dark Chocolate cookie) a day. So I am not that bad. I can't go too long without having something in my stomach. I try to not eat later than 7pm too. I exercise about 2x a week or more if I get a chance (I have a 2 and 4 yr old and work full-time).
If anyone has any suggestions for me I would appreciate it!
