I don't care how renowned your doctor was, he can't diagnose IBS by poking your tummy. Check this page for a list of diseases that need to be ruled out.

A high WBC is not a good sign and you need to figure out what's causing it. The first thing I'd try to determine is whether you always have a high WBC or only when you're having attacks. It is possible you have some chronic underlying infection and your WBC is always high and you only get it checked during attacks.

The Board you're posting on is mostly for conversations about exercise and about losing or gaining weight. For general IBS questions like yours you'll probably get more response if you post on the IBS Diet Board. You can repost your question there or email Heather and ask her to move it for you.
