Hi Everyone,
My name is Julie, IBS-D for 18 years. My history is long, C-Section and Gallbladder removal 2 months after sons birth, years of fertility stuff, It started at age 30 and Iam 50 so.....eww, and away we went with IBS-D. You name it I have had it done or tried till recently finding this site and began the Acacia/peppermint tea,or caps and have been on and off Bentyl,Levbid(Hyoscamine-sp) and Elavil combination since my last plea for help at Dr.("04") this Acacia and diet seemed to be helping more this past 3 weeks...and then boom! Not as painful but back to the throne for 8-10 times in the past 24 hours, called the Dr. about information I read in Heathers book about using Questran(due to Gallbladder removal) and hoping maybe after all these years my body cant deal with the "Bile" New Dr.(my old GP retired) new Dr. never really heard about IBS (Great!) GI Dr.,saw him or better yet he saw me "05" for removal of polyp after having bleeding (Colonoscopy-next due "10") anyway...my GP called me back and wants me to see the GI Dr. wont write a script to try Questran herself and my appointment isnt until Sept,
I saw this GI-Group back in "95" was given Zantac and told to meditate and watch diet caffeine etc. and walk...anyway...
when you have a episode or in general do any of you continue to take your medications??and during a bout do you continue to take the Fiber also?or do you let things settle first??
sorry this is so long...appreciate any input...
my story is long road traveled, as yours is Iam sure also,t am hopeful always!
