I don't know. It's possible I suppose - I used to get horrendous panicky sensations in the midst of a bad IBS attack but don't know if that was because my serotonin was out of whack or strictly psychological because the attack was so awful. Plus if serotonin is involved, you don't know for sure how causality runs. If could be that your serotonin gets out of whack for some unknown reason so you have an IBS attack AND your mood drops.

If you're interested in more opinions or want to explore Heather's diet guidelines for IBS, you'll probably get more responses if you post your questions on the "IBS Diet" board rather than on this "IBS Fitness" board. This board is about diet and exercise and doesn't get a lot of traffic these days.
