Hi there fellow IBS'ers,
I started taking inositol for depression and it seems to be helping. Unfortunately, I think it may be aggravating my IBS - D. It's possible the problem isn't the inositol - has anyone had any experience with this? I saw a few posts about inositol, and by the way it's not a fiber, it's a sugar related to B-vitamins (though I still haven't quite figured out how). It actually occurs naturally in your body, apparently. I haven't found any research that says anything about digestive side-effects. As for the IBS, I've tried pretty much everything there is to try (including soluble fiber, IBS diet, fennel, peppermint oil, meds, meditation, probiotics, and the IBS hypnotherapy tapes), and I've pretty much given up on that, but it would be nice if at least I can take something that doesn't make it even worse. Anyone have any info or experience (on inositol, that is)? Thanks! - Laurie
