Dont get discouraged! I know it is so easy to when you are working so hard and not seeing the results you desire!
2 years ago I buckled down and decided that I was gonna lose weight no matter what! I decided that my exercise of choice would be a treadmill, which I bought, and I still use! If I can watch TV while doing it, I'm in!!
Anyways...a few things that I have learned along the way....
First you say that you suppose you are eating around 2000 calories a day. It is worth writing down EVERYTHING you put in your mouth and what the calorie content is, just to see EXACTLY what you are taking in. MANY of us would be surprised as to how many calories we arent even aware that we are consuming on a daily basis! I have read that if you take your weight and multiply it by 12 that is the amount of calories you need to maintain your current weight. If you want to lose 1-2lbs a week you subtract 500 calories from your diet either from just cutting the calorie intake or a combo of cutting the calories and exercise.
For me I have a HUGE sweet tooth, so I cut a ton of calories by just cutting out treats.
Anyways, I have tried to incorporate protein into my diet for every meal, simply because it fills you up and keeps you satisfied. I am stuck on a protein bar in the morning. I found great ones online from revivalsoy.com...chocolate raspberry (low carb) with 20g of protein, the bar is big and I dont even need my mid morning snack anymore! I am loving these!
Also, a killer is any type of dressings, or sauces that you put on things, it is amazing how much fat and calories are packed into these things that can make healthy salads and pastas really treacherous on our diets!
If you love pasta...try dreamfields pasta (in the black box), it is low carb and it tastes JUST LIKE regular pasta! It is a little more expensive, but if you are a pasta lover, it is the best!
Also, we all read food labels, and if you try to eat what the suggested serving is, that will help you control your calorie intake as well. It will also help you decide what foods are worth eating. For example...I wont buy a cereal that the serving size isnt at least 3/4c. Otherwise it isnt worth it to me! I need to see that I can eat something for the calories!! So food labels can be deceptive in that way. You will notice that the labels usually all have the same amount of calories, but the serving sizes are all different!
I also try everything. I will give everything a try at least once! I always substitute ground chicken or turkey for beef, low fat versions of things for the full fat. Unless they taste gross of course!
Hope those few tips help!! Keep up your good work! Being healthy is never a bad thing, even if you arent losing the weight! I am sure that you look fabulous!
Good luck!!!!
