As per the previous response, I agree with that person's post. Everyone is different when it comes to IBS and the attacks. I personally have utilized different reading materials available: The Yeast Connection, the IBS Cookbook, The Candida Cookbook, IBS: What your Doctor won't tell you, etc. Many give good advice on how to determine what your intolerances are when it comes to food. I won't be the last person to tell you that it sucks to not eat at your favorite restaurant, or in my case, give up eating icecream, but because there are so many sufferers out there, people have been accomodating. I can have icecream, but only if it's made from soy. I can eat at any of my favorite restaurants. The key is knowing what I can and cannot eat. Most restaurants offer baked meat and fish products. Don't be afraid to request certain vegetables plain. It's difficult to pass up the bread basket, but if you have one, it's okay. Just make sure that the next day you go right back to your strict diet. I mean, personally, as long as I am not eating out every night of the week, I will be fine just that one time. Now, I am not recommending that you eat out at that restaurant right away. I suggest getting your diet in gear, and once you are feeling better, give it a week or two before you try out your favorite restaurant. IBS is cumbersome, but don't let it ruin your life. If anything, it is a blessing because it has caused me to lead a much healthier lifestyle, and my body thanks me for it by not being in agony. I hope that you find this beneficial, and I hope you the best of luck at overcoming IBS.
