That is great Steph!! I'm glad you found someone that works for YOUR NEEDS!! Before my PT went indpendant she was one of the very pricey ones....and she would only take those that are REALLY serious....and then ones who just want to loose a few pounds or get in shape for a wedding, reunion, etc etc she sends to the ones not "certified" yet or with less experience.
But with my years of seeing trainers come and go from the gyms (I have an all clubs membership so I can go to several locations) I can tell that some of the ones that others don't want to train with because they are not "certified" YET are missing out...because many of them KNOW their stuff and it is a passion for them and they have everything fresh in their minds about how to train people because they are studying it themselves. So, YES... ASK....
Then there are also some that are "certified" that really DON'T know the body and are over working people because they are trying to be "tough" on them and not being safe....
It also helps to have one that knows what eating different types of foods do to your body and that they don't PUSH supplements... but like my PT told me before she went independent... she HATED pushing them, but she HAD to hit her numbers in supliment sales as well as session sales in order to bonus and get all the money she worked so hard for with the clients. Once she went independent her clients were no longer PUSHED into using them even though many of them still do......
OK, I'm just rambling now... Steph I'm just happy you are getting the help you need now....
