Irritable Bowel Syndrome Message Boards | Idea about Personal Training if it is too pricey

Just thought I would post this on here as I know I would have wanted this info when I was going back and forth a while ago about whether to try Personal Training or not.
I went to my local gym to inquire about PT and was bombarded with information by a very pushing PTer who wanted to take me on as a client, but charge me an insane amount of money. When I finally got a chance to say something, I told her I definitely could *not* afford the personal training - afterall, I am already paying monthly gym membership fees!
I was referred on to an "apprentice trainer" who is still trained in PT but has not done all the exams and everything. I was a little hesitant, but as it was more than 50% cheaper, I thought I'd give it a try and it's GREAT. It is way cheaper, but I get an awesome workout and the woman seems to really know her stuff. She is an assistant manager of the whole gym, but hasn't finished her actual PT exams yet.
Just thought I would pass this along as they don't exactly advertise it - only the expensive option - but it might be available at other places too.
*** Note: If you want to consider this, I would make sure that the person who offers themselves up to train you for cheaper actually knows what they are doing. My gym has a lot of "instructors" that can show you how to use the machines and everything, but are not trained to work one-on-one with clients with other exercises. Make sure you are getting your money worth with someone who does have some qualifications!
