This website is a blessing. So much love, support, and community here. I'm very thankful you all are here.

As the subject says, I'm writing about the progress of my diagnosis. In June 2006 I started seeing a new gastro doctor. He specializes in IBS and weight loss. He's like no other doctor I've been to before. He actually wants to help me find some answers, find the root cause of my IBS. First he gave me some Questran to help with D. That made me C. Two weeks ago I had an endoscopy. Found 3 ulcers in my esophagus and hiatal hernia. I've increased Nexium to twice a day. Been on Nexium for 2 years, once a day. That's helped with the GERD. Went for f/u this past wed. Dr explained my body is not absorbing nutrients of my food, so it's getting rid of it any way possible. Why I cannot eat anything but SF right now. Each time I try to add IF, flare up. Try to eat protein sources (fish, chicken, soy).. flare up. Absolutely no red meat..haven't eaten that in over a year. Yesterday I got angry because I had bought Propel water.. checked the boards, nope.. can't drink propel..has sucralose in it..

I am learning about all the ingredients that is in foods that is not IBS safe. It is overwhelming information. I bought a few vegetarian cook books. So afraid to actually make anything. Afraid I will get sick from it -- D, dry heaves/vomiting, tummy pain, exhaustion. I am at a loss right now on what to do in the interim. November 6th I go for my second colonscopy (1st one over 2 years ago). This dr is confident he will be able to help me. He keeps mentioning celiac disease. I know what it is and all.. I'm wondering if he "thinks" I have that. Dr said a lot of people who have celiac aren't being diagnosed with it, because their dr isn't doing extensive testing for it. They (medical world) are finding lots of people who have celiac but their bloodwork, duodenum and colon biopsies are negative. It isn't until they swallow a camera pill, that they get properly diagnosed. This camera pill goes thru the digestive system, shows the wall of small intestine and that's when they see/diagnose celiac. So, if my colonscopy in Nov is negative.. my dr wants me to swallow the pill.

I'm not losing weight.. have no energy to do cardio.. depression and lack of nutrition to thank for that. I want to go back to the YMCA for water aerobics. I need to feel like I'm doing something. Something besides sitting around depressed, lonely. That is my goal for this week.

I am so blessed you all are here. Thank you. May God bless you abundantly.
