Hi there,

Sorry to hear that your doctor's appointment didn't give you all the answers you were looking for - I don't think they ever do! Doctors seem to get a bit tunnel-visioned sometimes and don't like to answer questions on a variety of topics sometimes. (Which doesn't bode well for my GI appointment tomorrow, hehe).

Eating smaller portions is a good way to start - for both IBS and weight control. Try to eat every 2-3 hours to keep your tummy full and it also helps so you don't go too long without eating and then eating too much in one sitting.

I would say try to incorporate lean proteins into meals and just try to cut back on "empty calories" - so things with a lot of sugar in them that don't do anything good for your body.
I am still trying to figure out how to eat safe and healthy for my IBS/reflux and lose weight so I don't have a whole lot of tips but hopefully someone else will chime in.
I am off to make some soup but if I think of anything, I will add more later!
